(Back from trying to vote)
To me, it seems crazy to try to compare and rate a DRAWING or a photograph against a poem or a short story. Is this really what is intended? I don’t know how to do that. I’ll think about it and make some kind of arbitrary ranking, just so I can post, but I don’t buy it. Sorry, not meaning to be cranky. It’s just that the criteria to do the ranking seem radically different. I would post a long philosophical treatise on why this system is wrong-headed, but unfortunately I haven’t voted enough!
Crankily,
Julie
PS (Back again from pondering this.) Let’s take “Spammer Attack” for example. There’s nothing WRONG with it, but how do I get RID of it, just supposing, hypothetically, that I want to? It’s last on my list, and the quick-rate doohicky says I can move it to 13th position, I think it is (lower than it currently is, anyway), but nothing happens when I try. What if I like everything in my whole list but I absolutely HATE “Spammer Attack” (remember, this is hypothetical!)??? Getting rid of “Spammer Attack” should count as a vote, which would eventually enable me to submit… but I can’t get rid of “Spammer Attack”.
Now there may well be some way to (hypothetically) consign “Spammer Attack” to the flames, but I cannot figure out what it is.
I am still a friendly user, but I am not finding this system to be user-friendly.
Hmph. Whinge, whine.
PPS (Back again from trying to get rid of “Spammer Attack”.) Well, now I seem to have moved “Spammer Attack” down somewhat, but it’s still there. Now I have an actual vendetta against “Spammer Attack”, and want to KILL IT. Even though I only hypothetically wanted to kill it in the first place. This is how wars start and innocent people and articles suffer. ACK.
