A little bit of my soul…

I came back to reread this because I remembered liking it so much.  Now that I have reread it, and I know that it has been voted into first place and been selected to be published, it feels like warm rum in my gut - the idea that the members here also saw something great in it.  What I saw in it was not something I felt would be very clear to most people, but still, it was recognized.

That opening of the window because the outside looks better than the inside, and the rush of wind and the response that the fire has to it reflects so well all the things inside of us that these elements of your scene represent.  I suppose you’ve asked us in, in a sense.  Thanks, it’s good hot chocolate .

Seriously, Dave, your input means the world to me. Because for the longest time I felt I was the only one who felt both secure and confined in my internal (and eternal) haven.

Now I know that you’ve really seen it. A lot of people sense it, but I think you have really seen your internal haven, and now a piece of mine.
