I thought I was submitting this song to the November contest. I can’t imagine it being much of a matter for discussion.

Tobiash,

you did submit to the November contest, your post just ended up in the wrong forum. I’ve moved this for you so it now appears in the Short Contest forum.

All submissions are a matter of discussion, in my opinion. Unless you don’t want feedback on your piece, that is. So I won’t offer any here because I’m not sure whether or not you want it. If you do, let me know, it’ll be my pleasure to tell you what I think.

By all means give me feedback. I was just confused about submissions and threads. I’d love to hear comments from anyone who reads my stuff.

Hey Tobiash,

well, I thought your piece was really good. It has a good rythm and makes me want to know what tune it goes to smile I love the way you get your rythm both from the flow of words and the length of the phrases, and how your lyrics blend.

I wish there was a donkey in there, for the sake of challenging you to work a little harder to include it - I don’t think it should be so hard with this one smile

Well done!

The meter is fantastic.

On a completely different aspect… I’d like to hear more about the confusion between submissions and threads.  I have a theory, but can you explain a bit more before I tell it?

It used to be that when you submitted a story it would come up on the recent submissions list and if you clicked on the list of submitted titles you can read the work. Now when you click on a title you are sent to a discussion forum to discuss the work. If you just want to read the thing I’m not sure what you do. I liked the old way better. Read the work and post a comment if you want. That’s my confusion, what’s yours?

You confirmed my suspicion.  We changed the link to lead to the discussion so that people would discuss more, as that is one of the main ways that we all become better writers.  If you just want to read the submission, you only need to click the title of the post (“TURKEY IN THE BRINE”) at the top from the discussion page.  You’ll notice a little parenthesized bit in that first post too that mentions it.  Sorry we confused you with the change.
