The transition from second person to first makes increased the feeling of distance I felt between myself and the author.  Consider sticking with either first person or second person, or going from first to second to draw the reader in.

I respect that.  I do believe to some degree people have to make mistakes to learn from them and therefore have the ability to grow, but it annoys me when they don’t learn from them and grow as is the case in my opinion regarding the oil drilling.  People died, it isn’t safe, it’s not going to be safe, and we have definitely proven that we are cluless as to how to deal with any problem that comes up.  I do see their side that peoples jobs will be lost but I am tired of hearing that excuse for everything.  You know what?  How bout this?  learn a new trade that might not kill you or destroy the environment that you call home.  The problem with some of those people down there is that they believe whatever someone higher up on the totem poll tells them.  they don’t use their own brains enough to say “Wait a minute this isn’t good” they think collectively as one huge poorly educated brain.  the sad thing is that they are not all poorly educated just miseducated and misguided and most of all lied to.  Making them very, very dangerous.
