Clarity
Category: Poetry/LyricsI watched the last drip of it as it swirled down the drain.
The droplets connected in little beady pools, formed, and slithered down the hole, crawling toward oblivion.
I saw my reflection clear as day in those little pools, minions of water, tiny mirrors on a pilgrimage.
R-i-g-h-t before they disappeared beneath a grate at the feet of god his very own little damned self.
Things would never be this clear to me again.
We’re all finite, waiting to be flushed and fed into the sewer.
If we’re lucky, in pools of time, we get to cling to other droplets.
But in the end, none of us can avoid the drain.
