Something Old

Category: Poetry/Lyrics

I hate your stupid leather coat
that sulks in the wardrobe, slowly oozing
cigarette smoke and accusations.

I hate your stupid grungy coat
that matched your stupid grungy hair
and clashed with your toothpaste-advert smile
and that yellow monstrosity you liked to wear.

I hate your stupid empty coat
that hangs, limp as a wind-sock in the still, stale air
and possibly laughs at
the ridiculous things I’d do
for one sodding photo of you.

  • Quite nice imagery. Imajry. Immmmahhhgery. I think there was something other than accusations in the oozing smoke seeping from that coat I got wind of!

    Nice poem.

  • Thanks smile It’s actually quite a literal poem, I’m intrigued as to what you got wind of ...*strokes beard thoughtfully*

  • Creative imagery. Puffs of funky smoke. *winks annoyingly*

  • Pass the peace pipe. In today’s world of bombing police campaigns, is more important than ever. A shame we destroyed the civilization that understood that to increase the size of our borders.

  • I liked your poem. It was short but filled with lots of meaning. The words are thought-provoking and I found myself asking questions later. Whose coat was it? What meaning did it have? And on and on. Anyway, I enjoyed reading it!
