Deepwater Horizon
Category: Issue 19Dear British Petroleum:
I hope you’re not mad at me.
Remember, I didn’t court you,
You pursued me.
Thousands of your men came looking.
I was a prize to find.
I was the best gusher
That ever gushed.
Everyone wanted me
And all I wanted was to be left alone.
Your planet was my home
And your home was my home.
I am sorry about the beaches and marshes,
But I know oil and water do not mix.
Didn’t you?
About the men that died,
I didn’t kill your men on your rig,
You did.
Thanks for caps that worked
And for the caps that didn’t.
Your cameras were really getting on my nerves.
Did you get what you wanted?
Did you get all that you needed?
If you are looking for gushers
At the bottom of the sea,
Keep looking.
I have friends that are just like me.
