Confused Party Members Fling Soup
Category: Mind Change
Welcome. Everyone is glad that you could make it.
Welcome to Litmocracy.
What we do here, is we basically do what Dave says. There is a certain amount of heckling that goes on, which is finally what a democracy is all about.
As noted years and years ago, now, Dave is the King, so it’s not REALLY a democracy, any more than Canada is. However, Dave is not out of his mind, and so, can be reasoned with to some degree, unlike some other democratic leaders who shall remain nameless here. He may or may not listen to what you say, but at least he doesn’t chop your head off if you disagree with him. This is True Democracy in the modern age.
What goes on here is the following. Everybody votes on everything in his or her path, until there’s some kind of concensus as to which were the best submissions. I’ll give you an example.
1) War and Peace, by Tolstoy
2) Ulysses, by James Joyce
3) Why I Am Not a Christian, by Bertrand Russell.
4) The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, by C.S. Lewis
5) My tax return (forthcoming), by Julia Colterjohn
6) A picture of a lady glued to a wall. (?)
7) That thing by T.S. Eliot “And upside down in air were towers, tolling reminiscent bells…”
8) An actual poodle
9) Four Cups and a Saucer (forthcoming)—J. Colterjohn
10) The Blair Witch Project (Those guys that made the film)
What you do is, you just read all these, view them, listen to them, whatever, and then you rate them in the order in which you feel like doing it.
Don’t let the fact that it’s impossible to do that stop you. It’s fun, right? Damn rights it is. And we have freedom of speech here, which is one of those things that… oh… excuse me….
11) Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand
Dave?...? said.
Feel free to vote. Good luck. Have fun.
Again, I must say, it’s cool to be able to bitch like this without getting arrested.
Thank you for listening. And now, for some music.
... Um… Please, people with the guitars. Please. Oh, no!
(Someone with guitar spills someone else’s soup. A riot ensues.)
