Oi!

I’d like to say hi to all of the Newbies that have signed up in the past month. Allo Write On Dude. Bien Venu Hartley Pool. What up Bomber and Wonkafizz? Adieu to all of you and welcome. As you can see this it Literature of a new order. A writers’ workshop where free thought is not only welcomed but rewarded. To that end, I’d like to discuss how incentive works. Incentive is a method of getting something going. In this case I’m referring to the book contest that’s brought most of you here.

I am starting a smaller more local contest to encourage many of you to write. I’ve seen you join and look around and jot a couple forum posts but I want to read some new stuff. This goes for you older members (not in age, chill, I mean in membership length) as well, such as Iconoclast, Cap’n Veg (old friend!) and Star Lizard. To the end of stirring the drink I offer this straw. Let’s see some posts. I’m going to pay cash for the best entrant that enters the book contest this week, starting now, one that enters from today forward. The best book idea submitted to 99 Burning literature will be selected for print and submitted to Litmocracy’s book contest, as voted on by you… me… everybody. 99 Burning will pay the fee, plus we’ll pay you $20 via Paypal. The contest is free and the winner will have a shot at $1000 and a publishing contract. It will be posted on 99 Burning, here in the contest, and you will be paid. This game is fun. Compete. Believe in yourself. Hell. If you don’t, who will? Now for a few new pieces for you to peruse!

I’m going to start with a few excellent entrants in the Unpublished book Contest:

Princessa by Mikael Covey

The last days of the cross by The Bomber

And finally Hot Flashes by Frauherbert

What’s the deal with this?  The site says 500 words… is this right? Or is it the same as the book contest - synopsis and sample?  Guidelines would be useful… it’s not very clear what is wanted.

Post your entrant in the book cost. The highest entrant picked in the past week through the next will win the $25 and the postings. So it’s the same contest, I’m just rewarding entrants in a specific period of time.
