Ahem… amidst crankiness and coffee beans, shaken, not stirred
Ahoi,
I guess I picked a bad lifetime to quit smoking. Being in a foul mood for the better part of a year now, the newsletters have slowed some, admittedly. What’s the old saying, if you have nothing good to say, shut the hell up.
Mmmmkay.
The last newsletter spawned some good debate, I still fully believe that both our current form of taxation and the system is broken, I have yet to see a compelling argument otherwise, but the fact is we have some good things to say other than woe is me because the government sucks and the Bama is yet another liar so I’ll just get to that, to the good stuff, that is.
First things first, we have a decent development we’ve been working on for awhile, between Dave and myself and some other people. I’ve been editing a book about professional athletes car collections, from Arnold Palmer to Sugar Ray Leonard, written by a female race car driver named Barbara Terry. She’s very talented and has interviewed almost 50 athletes, the total will be 50. We are trying to work out the details of an offer from Comfort Publishing, so we’ll keep you posted, but it will be a big book so yay for Litmocracy.
Our friend Dean M. Drinkel is working on some stuff and had a recent trip to Cannes again. Hope to hear how that went. Our brother in captivity, PrometheusCaptive has found some resolution to his situation in Pakistan. His charges were dismissed and once he is safely out of Pakistan and working elsewhere we’ll have an update on his situation but rest assured, he is okay.
While I was trying to not make my situation or mood worse, Dave pelted me about tax law and now I’m back to being whipped up into a furious frothing white salivating frenzy so here’s what we agree on:
[9:27:37 PM] Dave Scotese says: It would be helpful if they stopped enforcing tax laws, but a far better idea to spread around is this:
[9:28:34 PM] Dave Scotese says: Anyone who enforces a stupid law (in your opinion) should be called out for enforcing a stupid law.
[9:28:56 PM] Dave Scotese says: Public support for undoing whatever enforcement action was created should be whipped up.
[9:29:29 PM] Dave Scotese says: Stupid laws ought not to be enforced. Taxation is one of them. And it ISN’T enforced in most cases.
[9:29:55 PM] Dave Scotese says: So find a better way to spend your money and next time you hear about a rally for a tax evader, sign up to help.
I agree with that but so help me when I get a effing bullhorn and some crowds again… grrrrrrrr....
Oh yeah, and we have a share this feature so you can spread the word or good stories or pieces here at Litmock to other social networking sites:
[8:223:49 PM] Dave Scotese says: I also added a “Share This” widget which makes it easy to share the article on a whole boatload of social networks.
[8:25:09 PM] Dave Scotese says: SocialFeet does the same thing, but specifically for Facebook and also shows you stuff that your friends on Facebook have been doing at sites that have SocialFeet.
[8:25:13 PM] Dave Scotese says: Umm…
[8:25:51 PM] Dave Scotese says: I guess what we want to say in the newsletter is that these are new features that we can use to help spread the word about litmocracy to people we know.
That, even in my mood, is cool. Okay, so back to the coffee and the writing and the editing and 36 more hours of endless work followed by trying to be nice with the kids while sleepless little coffee gnomes sleep walk me through one more endless day.
dear god, when will it ever end…
ciao
