Howdy folks,

We here in Litmock land hope that all is well. We have a few announcements. First, with the impending release and press of the Barbara Terry book, and the exposure we should glean from some of it, we really want to fix up the site. Make it easier to use. I want ALLLLLLLL suggestions, don’t care how silly they are, so I can start nagging Dave about fixing them. And I’m a damned fine nag.

Trust me on that one.

So whatever you see that’s fixable or changeable, email me at deminizer13@99burning.com where I can secretly reword them with my army of Amish Ninja lawyers so as to assault Dave with a blind siding attack of logic so strong, even he would be forced to simplify VOTING procedures (hint, hint) if that’s what we choose. I don’t care how silly it seems. Want a contest on naming your poodle? We’ll debate it. Might not do it but we will debate it.

(...here’s a hint on the poodle naming thing though, save you some time. Dude, you have a poodle. Name it fifi and get it over with. What? Like Killer or Titan is really gonna’ work? And get a real dog next time, fer criminy’s sake)

Also,

Litmock’s 15th Issue of Literal Translations is headed to the printer in the next few weeks.

Wow, 15, sniff sniff… They grow so fast. For those of us who’ve been around from the beginning, we’re proud, and looking forward to the next 15 and the continued growth and evolution of the site. To that end, we are putting together a book about our progress thus far. Star Lizard is working on a stellar cover and I’m going to name it and write a forward… but since I’m writing it, it’ll naturally be a backward, and so we’ll have that coming too. I’d like stuff from you guys to put in there.

HEY. WAKE UP, I’M TALKING TO YOU. THIS IS A WRITERS SITE. CALL FOR WRITING:

Anything you want in there that is pertinent to the site, send to me. I’ve met Michael Covey for instance. Dave and I have worked with Prometheus. there are tons of things you could write about. Maybe you won money. Whatever, send it directly to me. I’m partial to illegible articles written in fingerpaints, crayon, or goats blood, but hey, an email or a word doc will work.

To each his or her own.

Email those as well at the above address. I might shun them for a bit, but I will get back to you. More on the Barbara Terry stuff next week or so. I have 33 interviews to write between now and the end of next month for that so I’ma get cracking now.

Oh, on the personal front, not bidness related at all, something rather, well, unexpected and wonderful has occurred and I’m in too good of a mood to rant against socialism. I hate them, grrrr… but not doing it today. Too good of a mood is a good thing sometimes I spose. I ain’t saying what it is, but just not in the mood to be too angry right now, so this week, I’m open to any of you to pick up the anti socialist mantle and run with it. I gots way too much stuff to do.

Aloha,
Don

We’ve been discussing what should be in the book about “our progress thus far.”  The first idea is one that PrometheusCaptive and I each had separately, and when he mentioned it to me, I was surprised.  We both thought it would be a good idea to make a book out of the first year of issues, along with the covers.

Now we’re wondering if the book should contain all issues to date, or if having a book for each year that contains those 4 issues would be better. We all like the idea of including a history of Litmocracy’s progress through the present, and it seems that the stories in the book should match the time frame.  That makes for a very large initial book, but if you’re all game, then let’s do that.

Another idea was to have a vote so that a limited number of stories from all issues to date can be selected.  This would mean some work would not be included, but again, if our discussion here suggests that the way to go, let’s do it!

I’m looking forward to StarLizard’s input because she’s already got ideas in here head (and some actual color on paper, I bet) for the cover of the book, and I sent her a preliminary manuscript that contains the first four issues.  And I’m looking for YOUR input too.  Mull it over.  Make elliptical suggestions.  Champion the best ideas you know of.  We’ll figure it out together.

Make it a living breathing up to date mural.

We simply owe it to ourselves. Buncha pansies out there afraid to respond. Make a statement cuz ‘oh my gawd’ they might commit to something.
