Choices

Hee hee - that’s one of my favorite subjects. I like to say that choice is sacred.
What I’ve noticed is that a lot of times people make this one choice that bothers me. Sometimes its the right choice, but usually, it isn’t. This is the choice to forego thinking and instead be a lemming. Somewhere in school or socialization, we’re taught that to disagree with the majority around you is bad. A lot of times, that’s what thinking leads to. I can’t count how many times people told me I think too much. I understand that sometimes I’m slow because of it, but I’m very patient and things seem to turn out well for me far more often than they do for others. Or maybe I just don’t complain as much. Hmm.
You might enjoy some of the thoughts in “Austrian Economics” which you can explore at The Ludwig von Mises Institute

Oooh, thanks for the heads up, I’m definitely going to check that out. (rubbing hands in glee)
And, about this: ” Somewhere in school or socialization, we’re taught that to disagree with the majority around you is bad.”
There’s that, plus I think a lot of people are taught somehow that their thoughts and ideas are bad, or just not as good as other people’s, so I think some people just choose to give up and go with the flow, deciding they’re not good enough anyway…
That said, I’d rather hang out with a passionate thinker any day of the week. It’s so much more interesting.
Hey,
I liked this thingy! Very true, I often forget I have choices to make, especially at school, but I won’t go into that :-p. Anyway, great comment!
Well thought! I believe life itself is a choice, albeit a series of choices whereby one creates ones reality.
