I liked this.
Good use of imagery.
The only jarring thing for me was “kaleidoscope eyes.” Reminded me of the Beatles tune about LSD. Kinds didn’t fit in with the elegance of the other stuff.
Also you need to correct “that” to “than” in the second to last sentence.
