I don’t get the CRYSTAL reference.  Is that just because it wasn’t Janette?  Maybe “I get home and there’s a message for me, but not from Janette.” for dummies like me.

Right, the message was from Crystal, not Janette.  So who ever this other guy said was not home at 601, was not who I needed to talk to about a guinea pig.

My hubby picked the name Odo, b/c of Star Trek DS9…

I’m re-categorizing stuff in preparation to have ongoing contests.  Basically, your entry doesn’t lose until it gets pushed off the page, and I think Odo might still have a chance.  I categorized your piece under ‘Life’, but since it’s a story, I thought you might want it to be under “Short Fiction”.
